How has Corona Virus affected practice?
Updated 4 July 2020
Practitioners registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) in the UK may re-open their practices and carry out acupuncture treatment under 'careful practice' from 4th July, provided they follow new guidelines and are covid secure.
When will treatment be available again?
Updated 1 August 2020
You can book in with me now. Facial treatments are expected to re-commence from 15th August. Part of the consultation will be done over the telephone, and you will have forms to fill in prior to your appointment, to minimise time in the treatment room. Please contact me to make an appointment.
What precautions are in place for treatments?
Updated 23 May 2020
The BAcC have produced guidelines on returning to practice, ensuring the treatment room is made Covid-19 secure following government recommendations. I have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment to meet this criteria.
I will be screening patients before every appointment.
What cleaning procedures will be implemented?
Updated 21 October 2020
The treatment room is cleaned in between appointments. You will be asked to wash or sanitise your hands upon entry to the treatment room. I will continue to wash and santise my hands frequently throughout treatment.
What do I need to bring with me?
Updated 5 August 2020
You may wish to bring a drink of water with you, I can no longer offer this in my treatment room.
At this time, I can no longer provide blankets for each patient, you may wish to bring a blanket with you if you have a tendency to feel cold during treatment.
I am also unable to provide gowns, so I will let you know if you need to bring something to slip your arms into if I need to work on your back.
Please leave any other personal belongings in your car.
What should I expect when I arrive for my appointment?
Updated 21 October 2020
Please ensure you wear a disposable surgical style face mask (like the one I am wearing in the photo). Cloth or handmade facemasks are not permitted. If you do not have a surgical face mask, you can purchase one at the time of your treatment for £1. I will also be wearing a mask. The waiting area will no longer be available. Please wait in your car and text me when you arrive. I will be staggering appointment times to ensure patients do not crossover and to allow time for cleaning in between appointments.
When can I have cosmetic, facial acupuncture?
Updated 15 August 2020
From 15th August the Government have given the go ahead for treatments on the face to be carried out. You can book in with me now. Appointments will still take 1.5 hours and you will require a course of weekly treatments to begin with. These appointments will take place at the salon only (no home visits for cosmetic acupuncture).
